The Program!

Program Objective
The primary objective of the AD1436
educational creative writing program is to promote
creative writing skills, while encouraging students to go beyond the
boundaries of standard education, through their writing of a
student
novel.
Program Goals
Our goal is to give the students a sense of community awareness
through the donation of all profits back into the
school.
Plus, creating and writing this novel gives students an opportunity
to express themselves creatively and gain
a historical perspective of their hometown while working with a
published
author.
This program can
help to decrease the gap between the divided age groups in our society
and possibly find some young role models and future leaders within the
community. It can also help establish local writing programs that will
instill pride and a common ground for teenagers and readers of all
ages for years to come.
Additionally, the community, as a whole, will be intrigued to
read about its local environment and be able to hold in their hands a
product that was created by the students.
The goals are three-fold:
- Provide the youth with a creative outlet that encourages teamwork,
promotes leadership and ownership.
- Develop writing skills that are critical to success in today’s
workplace by working directly with a
local
published author.
- Give schools an on-going fundraising/revenue stream they can be
proud of through the sales of the student created novels.
